On UK models the parking lamp is only on the right hand side front and rear. 
No number plate light, no left side lights.
Is that the way it is supposed to work in USA, or are both sides supposed to 
come on when parked? From the wiring diagram I'd say the USA was the opposite 
to UK, and only the left side rear and front side lights to come on. If both 
sides come on in the park position on the master light switch that may be 
wrong. It would be if it was a UK car.
I am afraid I couldn't get past that point. When its clear we could explore 
some more.

Please note other readers, we are talking a five position master light switch 
here as used on Mk1.    Parking - Off - Side - Main - Fog.
