Exhaust silencers.

Hi David

Yes, I've heard of the silencers breaking up internally causing excessive
back-pressure - however it is usually the exhaust valves that suffer on
most cars, head gasket second. Maybe the Stag will do it the other way
round if the head gaskets were suspect anyway.

The silencers are normally very good air-flow-wise as they are
'straight-through'. Any of the UK main Stag suppliers can do you silencers
only. I also expect you can source somthing very similar in the USA, but
beware of the shape which is oval for ground clearance, and the balance
pipe at the front which seems to do a very good job of damping out exhaust
noise.
