Castrol ??

Hi Don

What you have been told about brake fluids is quite incorrect. Here in the
UK there are around 10,000 Stags, running with all makes and specifications
of brake fluid. For instance the 'Unipart' brand as used in all Triumph
franchised workshops of the time was in fact brake fluid sourced from Mobil
Oil who bought it from .........

I have spoken to Burmah-Castrol in the UK today and they tell me they do
not even sell DOT3 these days, and that what they do sell is sourced from
various 3rd parties and say they are currently using an East German
supplier..

But on the other hand it is known that there are some very inferior brake
seals around, imported from certain Pacific Rim countries, that might wilt
if you breathed on them. Make sure you don't have these.

Or for the ultimate in brake system protection use Silicone fluid Dot 5 as
used in race and rally cars - many garages dislike this because of a very
high price and it does not need to be changed regularly like DOT 3, 4 or
5.1. Also it is virtually inert and attacks nothing - not rubber, paint or
humans.
