RE: Propagating Stag Mis-Information

In my opinion I consider this list to be like a car club meeting.
Some people who belong to a club, may be in the automotive trade
(restorer, suspension specialist etc)
You talk to them, shoot the breeze ,suggest things and find things out.
The validity of the information offered always needs to be measured.
People who suggest things can be right, wrong, misinformed or there may
well be another way to do things.

"Experts" get things wrong or are not aware of alternatives (this
reminds me of the "expert" balancer that trashed one of my
pistons.........recommended by the stag expert that he was the best
person to do the job)

Life has always taught me you pay for what you get.
The information supplied on this list is free, there is no recourse
should something go wrong.
When you pay for something and it goes wrong you expect to be able to
get you money back or the problem fixed.

As far as I can figure out all suggestions have been suggested in good
faith, so what's the problem?

Life's like that.

I would hate to see this sort of thing happen to every message post on
the list and these guys are professionals in their field!!!!
(Is this disclaimer rubbish purely an American thing??)

Subject: Propogating Stag Mis-Information

Hello All,

I've had a discussion this past week with some noted Stag experts,
and several comments were made about incorrect information and
mis-information being supplied to the Stag list by various list
members. There is a great potential to cause harm in disseminating
incorrect information by offering repair solutions for an owners car.
