Re: Coolant in Vee

Hello Peter,
About the fingernail slice, don't bother with epox. it will only
leak. It is either TIG /Heliarc or silicone. Clean it throughly with
grain spirits and a fine stiff bristle brush like the wifes tooth brush,
find a silicone that is impervious to glycol and good to 350 degrees F,
copper based, and smear some in the spot, a very thin film to cover the
gap, let dry completely, then reassemble with the gaskets. It sounds to
me like things are not on the square between the heads and manifold
anyway, so thicker gaskets may be needed also, along with a thin film of
silicone on each side and let dry completely. The only problem with
silicone is its mis-use or over use, breaking off and clogging the
little water passageways. If done absolutely right, it will not squeeze
out when torqued and will make a complete bond.
