RE: Running on unleaded

The new heads have been prototyped and are now being 'tested' on a Stag
Owners Club committee members car!

The material is identical, but the heat treatment to stress-relieve the
casting is as it should be done, not missed as was the case very often with
Stag and slant 4 heads.

The TR7 use exhaust valve inserts 150863. The TR7 was always designed and
used with unleaded petrol, therefore it is reasonable to assume that as the
very same exhaust valve seat inserts are used on the Stag, that they too
are suitable for unleaded petrol.

In any event, as I have said many times before, in paractice there are many
Standard Stags running around using unleaded petrol happily. Besides
which, when the petrol companies eventually phase out leaded petrol they
will be marketing successful substitutes, as has been the case in the USA,
OZ, NZ and many European countries for many years. So why the problem?

If you would like a copy of the comprehensive TSR report on this subject,
please let me know.
