Re: diffs
John
Sorry to hear of the nasty noise.
Some years ago I was backing out of the drive and there was a sharp bang, I
drove off up the street and all was well until I decelerated and there was
a nasty vibration and noisy. End result was a chipped tooth. All was well
after $950 was spent.
As for the 2500 diffs. the sedan diffs have a different backplate. The
stag has a wider "mouse ears" where they mount and I am not sure of whether
they are readily interchangeable.
Although, reading the story of how they stag can to be, The instructions
were that all parts had to be obtained from the sedan, where possible, so I
don't see why they should not be interchangeable.
As for the ratio. The 75 2500 TC had, i think, a 4.2 diff. All the
earlier Mk11 2000/2500's had 13 inch wheels and a higher diff ratio. It
was only the 2500S (77/78( that had the 14 inch (stag size) wheels and the
3.78 ratio.
Sorry Can't suggest any one in Sydney, I know a shop here in Canberra.
Failing that try british auto care in brisbane.
keep staggering
Brian
