Re: Some simple questions

Hi, I can anser a couple of these:

2. I use a trolley jack and axle stands underneath the front "Long member".
This is the chassis leg that the front drag strut runs from. Even on cars
where the jacking point on the sills is too rotten, and the front outriggers
are too rotten usually have a sound long member.

I replaced the inner sill, outer sill, front outrigger and front floorplan
with the car stood on the longmember, everything was fine.

The back of the car is a different matter. If things are rusty under there
it is best to jack directly under the subframe. Most tyre dealers do this.

3. The boot floor should not be a hard replacement. I think the panel is 85
pounds or so and if you have a mig welder it would take about a full days
work. The petrol tank is easy to remove.
