All the repogramming kits I'm aware of also remap the EFI and net you a
power gain.  My friend with a ranger with such a modification also reported
better fuel economy.    I'm not aware of any that simply remove the
governor, but someone else might be.

BTW, I know someone who used to have a dodge... governor messed up on it and
limited them to 30 mph... probobly was fun for them in traffic.

I think the idea is that you don't want the vehicle telling you how fast you
can go, you want to be *able* to decide on your own.
