2 years ago next April, I took my '73 T-all to Lake Almanor, CA. Mission:
rescue a Streamline Duke from slumber in a lakeside trailer park. After
getting the trailer roadworthy I hauled out to Susanville and proceeded down
the western edge of NV via Reno-Fallon-Tonopah-Beatty-Pahrump, then over the
'hump' to Shoshone. Interesting country, and windy as Hades. The climb into
Tonopah from the north is especially intimidating, as the town is basically
on top of a mountain. The road climbs straight up the darn thing, and you
can see it from *miles* away.
