Saturday, while visiting my area's Home Depot "big box store", there must have been 30 cummings, powerstroke, duramax, diesel powered pickup trucks sitting in the parking lot, unoccupied, with their engines running.

Is there a *real* reason for this - or are these guys playing "big diesel powered truck like the big rigs" drivers?
I think you have already identified the reason the trucks are left running. Emulation of the big rigs. The manual for my Cummins, plus an article in the Turbo Diesel Register, both say that long idling on my engine is not a good thing.

Missed you by 30 miles? Wow, that would tighten a sphincter or two. Glad it did miss you. I have two sets of friends in Fort Myers that I need to get in touch with. Except that they don't respond to their e-mail. Do you suppose they may be busy?
