Anyways, the station manager (a former Scout guy) told me that using
the premium gas would help preserve the exhaust system, among other
things. Any truth to this? Considering I'm (apparently) showing a
13% increase on economy, and with gas costing almost $2/gallon, it's
probably worth it on that front alone. Time will tell if that was
simply a fluke reading or something legit.
I use premium to control the dieseling, but I don't know whether it
affects gas mileage or not. My 33 gallon tank seems to have hidden
nooks and crannies where gasoline can hide, so my mileage fluctuates
too much to depend on any given number.
