Re: [ihc] K/KB wheel cylinder questions

Colin
The rear wheel cylinders are made out of that rare material called
unobtanium. Occasionally a NOS one will appear but for the most part they
are not to be found.
I salvaged the ones on my KB5 by spending hours with a hone, had to get a
larger cup for them. The small cup is special shape to fit the piston as
well.
The best bet would be to have them resleeved. Do you have any buddy's with a
machine shop. A friend of mine had his K6 and his brother's K6 done by White
Post Restorations and they were very happy with them. I imagine that they
are not cheap to do but there is little alternative. I am going to have the
same situation for my KB7 soon.
Go to Old IHC site and look around , I think the cross-reference numbers for
the fronts are posted there. Also Ken Young of "OLD IHC Parts Warehouse" in
Houston. Texas is a good source. He gets some NOS stuff in from time to
time.
