[ihc] (IHC)Gone Postal

Congrats Pete, on your RHD Postal Scout! Sounds like fun to me. I got RHD
myself.

On your reflectors, I had a 70 and a 71 that had rectangular reflectors. My
67 800 RHD does not.

On the mirrors; IHC west coast mirrors that mount on windscreen frame. Also
some that mount on door hinges, and some that mount on door, that have IHC logo
on the base. I recomend the type that mount on hinges if you want to take
doors off. The West Coast Mirrors cause even more flexure of widshield frame at
freeway speeds. Presently, I'm using generic type that mount on door, per good
visibility.

On the Scout II Leafs Springs, you will find that they are to long for 80/800
chassis. You can make them work if you must, but not without extending frame.
Aftermarket H.D. Jeep CJ 7 Springs will fit Perfect and work fantastic, but
you will need to revise mounts on the frame. These will work great with spring
under Scout II Dana 44 to 800 Conversion. Aftermarket Forged bolt on Shackle
Hangers for CJ7 maybe worth a look as well. IIRC made by Slick Rock.

BTW, I'm a BIG fan of the IHC 196. I've suprised many Scout II and V8 800
people with a IHC 152 in 800s off road. On the freeway, the 152 four bangers do
kinda suck, but I'm sticking with 196 for my RHD Scout. 196s push better at
lower revs. I'm considering a .82 % Overdrive 5 Speed Conversion, but I need more
reaserch on that. .82% Overdrive will compliment 4.88:1 real nice....

If your planning on repowering with non IHC, I recommend stroked out MOPAR
360 with Ramcharger 727. Be ready to do lotsa basic fab work.

On the Radiator, I like BeCool with twin electric fans. Thats what I'm
running in my Muscle Car, and it will not overheat.

BTW, I have RHD Scout, and I dig being on the Right Side.

OK, I'm going back to work on Scout.
