I suspect the dome light is controlled by your headlight switch.

You can try disconnecting the wiring connector from the light switch, and
(using a test light as a jumper) power the wiring connections and see if
one of them powers the dome light.

If, so - it is possible to take the light switch apart (ask Joel B.) and
repair the dirty dis-connection.  Just remember to gently bend the tabs
and upon assembly use a zip tie to ensure closure. <g>

If the dome light bulb is bad - unless you use a 2nd test light - how are
you going to figure out which circuit turns on the dome light?

It could also be:

1. bad or disconnected wiring.
2. bad fuse.
3. dos attack.
4. page fault
5. . . .
