[ihc] IH 2400 Back hoe

My co-worker let me borrow his fathers back hoe.  As he drove it to my place, 
it started to over heat.  I let it cool off and used the back hoe.  It didn't 
over heat like it had, all gauges are un-readable.  So far, all I know it is 
a IH 2400, with a 4 cyl.   It has a nice coating of oil/dirt, so I haven't 
look to see what engine it is.    
Where can I get info on this backhoe?
If the water pump or thermostat needs to be replaced,  Are all 4 cyl. the 
same?
