Hi All,

As I dropped off my son at school this morning, my drive shaft decided to
part company.  I'm still not sure what happened, but it's in at least two
pieces. The twisted piece (that WAS) still on the truck is only about 10"
long or so.  I removed and trashed it, as it was flailing the underside of
the Scout. I'm not sure if there was a bad U-joint (or loose/missing
hardware or what) and the thing tangled up as it came undone or what, but it
was twisted very badly. 

Bottom line: I need a "new" driveshaft! Anyone got one they'd like to part
with?  I can "limp around" with the 4WD, but this isn't a good permanent

Also: If I want to hunt for one locally, what should I be asking for? What I
mean is, is it "the same as a 1980 Chevy Smokester" or whatever?  Or is it
unique to a Scout II ('77).

Guesstimates as to what this will cost me are appreciated, then I can begin
to figure out how many unemployment checks this is going to cost me! :-<
