Yep, about 3 hours, if it all goes well. Some of us spend 3 hours making a
puller to pull the replacement seal down into its seat. Remember that there
are two seals on that shaft. One of them is an O-ring.

If it helps, that seal doesn't leak except when the engine if off, and the
torque converter drains back into the tranny housing.

Replacing what leaks out while stopped is an option. Also parking facing
downhill reduces some of the leakage.
