[ihc] Diesel is Turning!

GREAT news for me! I had sold my '67 800 on a '77 Diesel frame, but the guy
backed out. This didn't do my wallet any favors, but I was exceited anyway!
I got it back from the garage where they were going to do some work on it for
the buyer, and they hadn't gotten around to doing anything! I was thrilled
(no expense!).

I let it sit for a few days, then decided I HAD to start in on it. It is my
first IH/Nissan diesel, so I was a bit intimidated. I tried to turn it by
hand to make sure it was free, but was having trouble (wrong tools!). I was
getting worried that maybe it was frozen, which I did NOT anticipate, as I
couldn't get it to budge. I finally went and bought a NEARLY the right size
socket for the front nut, an adapter to make it fit on my 1/2" drive breaker
bar, and removed the radiator so I could get a good grip on it. I got under
there and.....HUUUUUMMMMPPPHHHHH!!!!

......Nothing-not a MM of motion!!!

I tried again, nothing!

Fear sets in-what am I going to do with a frozen diesel engine???

I tried the tools from the top, thinking I could get more leverage. Got just
a TINY bit of movement. Bottom line, put an "extender" on my breaker bar, and
now she is turning free!!!

I am VERY excited to try and get this going soon, pop the top, sell my Chevy
pick up, and be back into the IH lifestyle for the summer!!!

Was just excited and wanted to tell everyone. Thanks for all of your advice
on this project!!!

Michael
