Re: [ihc] Dan's resurrection

Well, after it's shake down cruise today, I found that it sure is a lot
nicer to ride with real metal under your feet! Bumps sure do feel different
when the floor and seat follow the sine wave of the bump!
Things we will watch for when we do the other side will be:
The front portion of the inner rocker needs to move inboard a hair of
where we put it, directly under the A pillar metal.
The center body mount has pre-drilled holes for the 5 bolts that you
could' bolt to the B pillar, but; they were not all dead on balls accurately
drilled, so; the 2 bolts I did get made the mount sit a RCH higher than it
probable should have. This pushed the outer rocker hight about a RCH up to
high and the door bottom hits the top of the outer Rocker. Nothing to bitch
about, just points of interest. Perhaps, if I had picked a different set of
holes to put bolts in It would have been better.
I was very happy with the fit and placement of the metal that I got from
Howteron Products. We didn't trip any of it to fit, as most all of the area
that the parts covered we had to cut out anyway to eliminate the rust.
I did not get the 2 dog's legs for the door openings, ned to get them
soon.

Wow, ambitious. ;)

17 hours for that job sounds like a world record!

Thanks, Dan. I now feel a lot better about finding rusty corners behind the
seats in my SII last week. There's still *lots* of good metal in places
where you had none.

Reapers:

This weekend, Dennis Petterson and myself cut out and replaced the
drivers side floor in my Scout II.

We removed the entire floor pan, from about half way up the slope toward
the firewall, to the back step lip. The center body mount, and rockers, and
old floor stringers
