[ihc] Distributor wrenches



Dude, that's what they make distributor wrenches for! :)

Seriously, that prompted me to actually search out a replacement for the one
that walked out of my shop in the burglary. Looks like KD still makes the
one piece job, part # 2725. Gotta get a couple. I picked up one of the
universal jobs that fit on a socket extension, it's bloody awkward and I
don't trust it not to fall off the extension into the fan or pulleys. With
the 'real deal', your hand stays directly above the dizzy cap out of harms
way(mostly).

I have a set of new Craftsman reversible ratcheting wrenches. I haven't
used them for the top bolt of a starter so I can't recommend them for
that specific purpose. The best thing about them is they only require 5
degrees of arc to ratchet. Great for tight spaces like the distributor
hold down bolt on an SV engine!
