[ihc] Re: Special Tools, Obscure tools owned

Among my collection are: clutch-head screwdrivers (used extensively on 1941 Chevy trucks), diesel compression gauge (pointless since I do not own a diesel anymore), Briggs & Stratton valve guide reamers and drive installation tool, vibratory RPM gauge, choke plate angle gauge for Rochester QuadraJet, star drill (for concrete), planetary drill bits, homemade spring bushing installation tool, benchtop saw vise, setting hammer for bending the teeth of a crosscut saw (cannot remember exact name), bronze saw file guide (holds file absolutely perpendicular to the saw blade and radiuses it if needed {crosscut saws mostly}, and used to file all the teeth down to proper height before sharpening and to put a turned edge on the cleaning teeth of the saw), mortising tool, mat cutter (for cutting mats to put around photos or paintings), wiggle gauge for checking concentricity of a part on a lathe (which I do not have), homemade drive sleeves and rods for pressing bushings in and out of 727 drums and gears, homemade mounting adaptor bracket to mount a 727 on a standard engine stand, slide hammer 727 oil pump puller, lead chisel (for packing lead wool around socket joints in old iron pipe), little machined angled plates (supposedly used by machinists to verify proper angle, in both 45 degree and 30/60 degree version), O2 sensor socket, Jeep front spindle nut socket, assorted pipes (used as 'persuaders'), 36" pipe wrench and a basin wrench and several Stillson wrenches (used more than once on my trucks), electric die-grinder (most used and most versatile tool I have), and shortly I will have a tool made to shave cam bearings while installed in the block.
