[ihc] looking for the smoking gun --- lifter/oiling rear cam bearing

Digesters,

I've pulled the cam on my 345 to see if the rear bearing is
misaligned. I need your help to determine if I've got the smoking gun or
not. The wear patterns on the cam lobes were not centered. It was if the
cam was not seated all the way to the rear of the engine. I can also see
that the bearing and the oiling hole in the block are not precisely aligned.
With the mark 1 eyeball, it seems to be off by less than an eighth of an
inch.

Based on my mental picture of what was happening with the rear
bearing and oiling the lifters, I can see that the cam shift forward and the
bearing shift would force the oil to move through a smaller hole, but in my
opinion it is not blocked significantly.

	Is this my smoking gun?

Does anyone have a cam bearing install tool I can borrow? =)

Respectfully,
Matt
