An excerpt from a note from John on my tow strap query. It seems he, like
others on the Digest, favors the military surplus straps. Here's his
tale... Take it away, Brother Landry:
"Honestly I don't have much to say on tow straps. Personally I use a new
surplus Air Force parachute tether strap I bought for cheap at a 4x4 swap
meet years ago ($30.00 each maybe). The sucker is very long! (*Censored*)
wanted one also so the next year I went to the swap meet I brought him one
and delivered it to him down at our annual in Death Valley gathering several
years ago. They're great... like 2 straps together... double strength...
and look like they could hold 10,000 pounds.
Best regards,
John L."
Guess I might go that way... My only remaining question here is, "Add hooks"
or "Forget hooks"? Must have more data...
Peace,
--Pete
