---Already thought of that one. While I was pulling the pan, I unmounted the
carb and set it over a large pan, turned on the fuel pump and let it run for
a good 5 minutes, no fuel leaking past the diaphragm or anywhere else. Will
pull the intake bolts and put thread sealer on them again just to make sure
that fuel didn't get in past them, but I would have noticed that* much fuel
on the outside of the motor.

---Maybe it was the beginnings of "hydrolock" that I was experiencing.
