RE: [ihc] 13" clutches ...I think it is possible
That's cold grease in the tranny that's killing your engine. You should
have 50 wt engine oil in the tranny. That helps some.
I found some tranny oil that's used in over the road rigs. Looks & smells
for all the world like heavy wt Mercon. I use it in my PowerStroke manual.
Might be just the ticket for the manual trannys in Scouts. It doesn't get
so thick in the winter.

I agree with Dan. I have the 12", 12 spring in my T'All, and one time
after a backpacking injury to my knee, a slight strain - nothing very
serious, I couldn't drive my truck for a week... Another consideration:
When it's very cold, I have to sit there with the clutch depressed
during engine warm-up for a couple of minutes. If I let it out too soon,
it will kill the engine. I always figured that was due to the size
and weight of the assembly (but could be wrong - do you all have this
problem?). On another side note: after I get the engine and the clutch
going OK, I then warm up the tranny with the t-case in neutral. It can
take me 30 minutes to warm up my truck in the winter!

Rocky,
You sure can fit the 13" clutch in there, but; it sure is a bear to
push the pedal in with it! The 12" is pretty tight as it is, the 13's,
especially when new, are really stiff.
