RE: [ihc] Intake manifolds
I'm so darn scared of pinging, probably unreasonably so, that I hesitate
to advance any more. Do you know how quiet for motor noise and loud for
wind noise a Travelette can be?
I'll try some more advance. I may just dial it way up so I am sure what
a ping sounds like and then come back down.
You don't think theintake could be a problem? If it was, I'd have water
in the cylinders, huh?

Guessing
I think you should check your fuel pumps pressure and volume.
Replace the fuel filter unless you've already done that.
Check the plug wires for even ohm/inch even if the wires look OK.
That's a hot coil.
Try the timing at about 12 degrees early. It works for some, but not for
me.
