I will only say that one thing that does seem to be different about a lot of
IH's is the TO bearing.  I always thought IH used about the same thing for
everything, but found out the hard way, when changing the clutch in a '74,
that they do make a few different TO bearings, and use them differently in
similar applications.  My guess is the one you installed is the wrong one
for the clutch/tranny you have used.

Maybe not, and you likely already know this, but it took me quite a while to
figure mine out-they didn't seem that different, but the groove for the
"fingers" was located differently.
