Re: [ihc] Fog/Driving Light Control (Eureka) and LEDs
Thomas-
Do the LEDs at AZ have bases the same as light bulbs?
If you are just buying LEDs, I can probably get them cheapest in bulk at the
wholesaler and have them drop shipped to you. They typically run about $1.79
each at Radio Shack, but they may be less than half that in bulk.
The 1156 and 1157 mockups are cheap at 5 bucks, and I wouldn't even shop
around at that price if I saw them. Do you need the heavy duty flasher with
them, or is there a load resistor in parallel to help the stock switch work?
My guess is the former, which means you need to upgrade the flasher. That's
a good idea no matter how you look at it.
If you have found a source that has the various socket bases for the
conversion, I'm very interested, but have never taken the time to look for
them. We could make up a few hundred LED bulbs that were specific to the IH
application and distribute them through the light line dealers.
