Re: Shwinn, Mongoose or Huffy? (was [ihc] What a gas?)

---On the subject of parking the gasoline powered utilities/privileges, I do
have an old push mower, but what about price tags on the new bicycles? Have
you researched the bicycles that were available 15-20 years ago? I had a
Mongoose Pro Class that ran roughly $560.oo new. Also had a `69 Schwinn
36-36 Phantom Scrambler (rare) and a Huffy base model (we called an alley
bike). The prices have skyrocketed on models that are similar. I wanted to
buy a Mongoose for the youngest boy for his birthday last year... good thing
Wall*Mart carries them, cause there is no way I would have been able to
afford the lowest price model on their website.

---IH content? FWIW, the `73 Scout II body I bought three years ago cost
less than the Scrambler-like model bicycle I found on the Schwinn website.

---Thank you,
-T.R.E.Jr.
-`73 Scout II (StoneThrower)
-`51 Farmall H (Heinz)
-`49 IH fridge (presently unnamed and in need of a compressor)
-`49 Plymouth Special Deluxe 4-door Sedan (Papapalooza)
