Re: EMERGENCY! I think i broke my camshaft (update)
I have decided to pull the motor, I was able to arrange the loan of a car for
a week so I don't have to rush. I bought a engine hoist from harbor freight
today (2 ton foldable $159) and I have it almost ready to pull I should have
it out tomorrow and I will pull the oil pan to check the connecting rods.
I'll let you know more when I get it apart.
Thanks
Nick

You need to pull your spark plugs and verify that your pistons are moving in
all cylinders.
I am not sure whether its possible or not to R2 the bearings in the truck,
but I bet its a heck of a lot more work than taking the motor to a machine
shop.

This is a 345 in a Scout II. I tookthe valve covers off. when I turn over
the engine only the valves on number one and two and one valve on number
three move.
Is it possible to change the cam and bearings with the engine in the truck?
This is my only transportation and I need it fixed by sunday. I really
don't want to pull the motor but I guess I can if I have to.
Thanks for any advise. By the way I am in Grand Rapids Michigan.
