---If you were to do something like a plug weld, I don't see a problem, but 
then again, a weld isn't a weld as much as a welder isn't a welder. I have 
seen plenty of people weld, for instance, complete axles for drag racers, 
but I wouldn't let them "spit" on my axle for my Scout II.

---FWIW, I was looking at the Skyjacker site again... pitman arms in 
general. It seems they are showing something totally different than they 
offered when I bought my lift 2 years ago. The material seems to be a high 
tempered steel in the gold color of a grade 8 bolt... sort of a bronze 
color. The dropped pitman arm I received from 4WP was more like unpainted 
pot metal and though painted a nice two coats of hammer-tite black (by me), 
I sent it back to them.
