Re: DOT Approved Stainless Steel Brake Lines Or Not? (Was:RE: Pete's Loose Ends)

---LMAO, take a breather. I need to make some coffee too. Cappuccino maybe
at that. I don't have any part numbers since my Windoze broke back in
October. I can tell you that the rubber Donut (doughnut) can be found in the
help section (Motormite). There are two types that fit the bill and three
types all together. One type is smaller in diameter. That is not the one you
want. The only difference between the two that are the same diameter is that
one contains a repair rivet that is thinner than the second in the kit. I
don't remember which one is needed, it has been three years since the
repair. What I did was pick up one of each, it doesn't hurt to have this
part in the toolbox, even if only the donut. I want to say that the one for
the Scout was the one with the replacement rivets that are the same size,
but if I am wrong, you won't be able to fit the larger rivet in the small
hole.

---You will need to grind the heads off the old rivets and knock them out
with a hammer and punch. I used a zip-wheel (air-powered dremel) to cut the
heads off them. Simple task, just don't hammer on the column to get the
coupler off.

---Good luck.
