underhood temp

Just for you, Tom :)

I bought an oven thermometer ('cause I needed one anyway) and hung it on the choke cable.

Vehicle is a '72 Scout 2, 345, 2bbl, 4 speed D20 3.73 w/31X10.5 tires

The most I could get was 150F underhood, ambient was about 105-110F.

Yesterday and today, after work going home.

BTW today I put the thermometer in the cab, above the visor, and rolled all the windows up.

The temp at about 4pm was 150F, in the cab; it didn't feel too bad.

My '79 is dark brown with a black interior, it gets hotter inside, I think.

I'll measure that one when it's running again.
