Holley 2300 jets

IHers,

I think I got my holley tuned in pretty good now. I installed a set of #56 jets. The 2300 (#7448) came through with #61 jets. My OEM 2300 has #52 jets. I figured I'd split the difference and go with the 56s. I still have a slight "dead spot" in the throttle just as I begin to open it up. If I just punch it, I have no problem, only when I ease into it real slow. My theory is that I need to richen it up a bit with the mixture screws, since the accelerator pump isn't really being activated with a light foot. And since it works fine when I nail it, because its plenty rich when the 30cc dumps into it. I don't think I went too lean with the jets because it still pulls good out of the hole.
Opinions and advice are welcome.
