Subject: Steering Gear

Hello- Does anyone know where I should buy a steering gear for my 1979
SII? I know several of the Scout vendors carry them (rebuilt I think), but
I want to know if anyone has any experience with the quality of these
rebuilt gears. I was thinking about calling Gryphin or GUS. My gear is
leaking very badly and b/c it is 20 yrs old, I figured I would go ahead and
just change to thing out instead of trying to rebuild the one I have.

I took me 3 boxes to get a good one from my local discount reseller here in
San Diego. I thought the lifetime warrantee was a great deal until I had to
replace the first box a week later...... Next time I will buy from a light
line dealer like GUS or SSS, Scout specialist like Gryphin or a steering
gear specialist like ARG.
good luck,

Tony
