Tom,

You're wondering why Californians are selling IH's.  We just got back from
the Panamints for a week.  Fantastic!!!

But... In Death Valley National Park at Stovepipe Wells REGULAR was
$2.18/gal.  Out in rural CA, NV, and in Las Vegas regular was $1.50/gal,
sometimes more.  My brother lives in San Jose.  He normally pays $1.60/gal
for it.  

When I got home I filled Scout with Mobil Super Premium for $1.25/gal. 
Does that tell you something?
