radiator question

Hi,
I have a 73 Scout II, 304, and need some info on radiators.  I'm planning a two
week trip through western Texas and New Mexico in late May and fear that i might
have some radiator problems, so I 'd like to preventatively fix something now
instead of on the road in the middle of BFE.  I've had to use "Aluminseal" (don't
check that spelling) a couple of times to patch the radiator from small leaks.
Because of this, I felt that prolonged driving at higher temperatures would be a
problem.

Should I replace the radiator?  Do I replace the entire thing, or just the core?
any suggestions on where to obtain the parts at reasonable prices?  and what about
beefing the radiator up to a better model?
