What about utilizing some kind of fluid-coupled unit mounted between the
transmission and the rear axle which, when energised, works just like an
actual brake??? all you'd need is some kind of oil cooler in front of the
rad to cool the trans fluid in such a system, and you'd be laughing!!!

AFAIK, this type of system DOES exist for heavy trucks, utilizing the
actual engine oil of the transmission to fill the unit!
