Sorry to be a week late but don't use the engine for braking.  Or if you
do disconnect the supply of gas.  You'll get an engine full of gas.  

Nah, even then you will fill the cylinders with oil and get a hydraulic
lock if the oil rings are somewhat less than perfect.

Just go ***slow***
