810 was the internal name for the successor to the Scout 800, just as the
1010 Travelall replaced the 1000.  But shortly before production, the
official name became the Scout II.  The change was close enough to
production that some linesets on the early Scouts show the model as an
810, but there's no difference from a Scout II.  Dan Nees has one of them

IH had a large test track on the South Side of Phoenix, used by all
divisions.  South Mountain is the southern boundary of Phoenix and the
Proving Grounds were on the south side of South Mountain.  They were sold
around 1980 to pay off a law suit that IH lost to John Deere over axial
flow combine patents and was used by various companies on a rental basis
for a number of years.  Eventually this went out of business.  I went
looking for the spot a couple of years ago and found it's now a
subdivision with only traces of some roads up the sides of the mountains.

I'm curious about who you got the report from.
