Machine Shop Closing
ALERT!
There is a machine shop closing here in Alameda that is trying to
liquidate. I went by Saturday, and it appears they are truly closing
and that they really want to get rid of everything! It is a SERIOUS
machine shop, though small and privately owned, with a lot of very
large, very heavy machines! I went to look at some stuff, but I
instantly knew I was in over my head. I called and they said tey had a
couple of used welders, and some old acetylene torch parts, but as I was
going through they were trying to lift some machine with a forklift, and
it was not a good time to look around/ask questions. I did see one
welder-I think it was a 230 volt 65 AMP or something like that. Any
advice on whether that would do for my half-a**ed attempts to train
myself. I still really like the idea of a torch, but if I can get a
good deal on something used, I had better jump on it.
Anyway, I am telling you guys this so that if there is anything you want
me to check on, I will see if they have it. Or if any of you that are
near the Bay Area at all want to come down and take a look, I'll take
you over there and pick your brains for info! Tom Harais? Got any free
time?
Anyway, once again, if anyone is interested in anything, let me know and
I'll try to find out what I can. I think next weekend is their last,
though I am not sure. Last weekend was the first ad in the paper.
Thanks!
Michael
