Ken,
Disabling the MSD from the ignition system in 5 minutes is easy *if* you put
some thought into this while installing it. Use water resistant quick
disconnect fittings that will allow you to quickly unplug the MSD and
re-connect the Pertronix alone.
When I first installed my MSD and had it triggered by breaker-points alone, I
made a laminated card with step by step instructions on how to disconnect the
MSD and run on points alone. I stuck the card under the hood with double
stick tape. With clear and specific instructions, it only takes a couple of
seconds to disconnect and reconnect a few wires.
