There are lots of local metal salvage yards that buy and sell metals by the
pound because we are near the ports where scrap steel is shipped to Japan
to come back as Hondas.

You can find some great stuff in there from diamond plate steel to rebar
(by the pound it's much cheaper than Home Depot) to bronze sculptures.
