Jerry,

My '75 travelall started doing that: at first it would start right back up,
but gradually it took longer and longer to start. The evolution between just
a few seconds, and hours only took about a month, and about six stalls.

The culprit was the bulkhead connectors - that simply needed to be removed,
cleaned, and reinserted.
