Vent holes in stuff (Kevin)

Kevin,

Pumpkin vent holes are threaded and have a 'storm head' type breather
from the factory. The front is a simple replacement with a threaded pipe barb
from any hardware store and a length of hose coiled accordingly for axle flex,
and run up the fender/fire wall.

The rear pumpkin vent is the same bolt that is hollow drilled and holds
the rear brake line splitter. I replaced this with a achined brass bolt, that I
turned on one side to have the pipe barb (Read: lathe will work, I did mine in
the power drill). Thread the hollow bolt in, and put a nut over the top to hold
the splitter down. Done deal. Same coil for axle flex and run hose up into the
body. I always put a fuel filter on the ends of the breather pipes just to keep
the critters from making a home. Plus now I actually have spares if I need
them.

The tranny vent on a 727 is about 2" above the front faceplate behind
the TConv. It's a little 1/4" or so. One guy at Tulare, welded his shut, and
drilled a hole int he top of the bellhousing ,then threaded a barb in the top
and ran the vent pipe up the firewall. I'm considering this very mod since my
tranny in the T'all has an affinity for sucking up gunk.

Good luck,

        -Joel

Subject: Vent holes

I'm sure this has been hashed out before but I don't remember....

Where is the vent hole on the Chrysler 727? I haven't looked but are the
vents on the pumpkins already tapped?
