Yes, there is a 4 banger in the works, but that is much more long range than
the six. I see no reason why the new six would not fit into a Scout as it will
be used by Ford in the Explorer/Ranger class. The 4 cylinder in development is
to my understanding slated for cars. So don't be surprised if in 6 or 7 years
you can buy a binder powered Taurus.
