Okay, I just read ihc-digest V6 #492, and will check out the vent lines.

I'll check the grounds, too, but it's not just the gauge- I've run out of
gas already [showed a 1/4 tank], and after testing (fill it, run it dry)
found the 8-9 gallon max per tank.
