304 swap update

Last night, I finally got it running for a while. It seemed to be running very rich and/or way out of time. At the same time I was playing with the ignition system, coil ballast, point...... I noticed I wasn't getting any voltage to the coil at "Start". I think the bypass wire either has crud on it down by the starter, or it is smoked. I got it running by running a wire from the battery through the ballast and to the coil. It ran for a while, 2-3 minutes, backfired really bad, ran a little while then I couldn't keep rpm up or give it gas. It flooded. I let it rest, played with the ignition some more, and fired it again. It ran smoother, must have guessed better at the timing. Anyway, it stalled again. My neighbor noticed gas at the base gasket, he has this problem on his 1210. We think its flooding gas right into the manifold and killing it. I will rebuild the carb tonight, and try again.
The carb is a 2210 that I got from a digester who switched to fuelie. I forget who it was, but he said it worked perfect, but it was on a 345. I'm trying to run it on a 304. Could I be over jetted? What jets should it have? I will check them tonite and see if they are ok, or I'll have to get new ones.

Tom M,
Didn't you play around with jetting your 304/2210? What was the final config you ended up with. BTW the 304 came with a 2300, but I swapped it out for the 2210. I figured it would be in better shape and easier to hook up, the latter truned out to be true except no auto choke setup on the manifold.
