John H,
   FWIW I didn't install the ballast resistor in Bad when I put the
PerTronix in, presumable because the instructions told me not too. I
think what Darrel said was that the Pertronix needs a ballast resistor
if you use different resistance coils that are not stock. Like an MSD
coil.
